Interior ROARS into Their LEAN Meeting!
The Interior Team Roared toward the Shore (stopping at the conference room) to present their LEAN idea for week 8! The “Leader of the Pack”, Tonya, counted on her gang, Jason P and Bert L to support Jason’s initiative of removing older, inaccurate equipment (namely the orange “chop” saw) while re-arranging the still-current equipment in a better and more usable work flow. This will also create a safer work environment as presses, punches and saws will be more easily accessible offering less congestion, unlike what will be happening downtown this weekend!
Already revved up, the conversation then focused on streamlining the manufacturing process for better flow, reducing waste and time. This will take about a week to complete! That’s a lot of engines needing to motor at the same speed…in 4th gear!!!
The wheels were spinning as Tonya explained her plans to complete an entire interior transformation within the next week including moving the interior shipping department, acquiring new tables and assembly tools, stocking each area with necessary parts instead of one single storage area, and more. It’s all about more efficiency and effectiveness in Interior Production!
Yes, Interior Production will be as brilliant and shiny as the polished chrome on a new Harley. This initiative is on its way, should be as easy to drive as a newly paved road…no pot holes expected!
